Enjoy a holiday in Bude, a quiet resort in north Cornwall

Bude is a modern. spacious resort and instead of a promenade above the beaches, there is open down land. There are three miles of sandy beaches in the area.

Widemouth Bay approximately two and a half miles south is a long sandy beach also very popular with surfers. On Bude and Widemouth there are rock pools at low tide where children can while away many hours with shrimping nets and crab lines.

The coastal paths are in abundance and the walk to Crackington Haven (10 miles) is one of the most picturesque in the British Isles. Being so close to the Devon border, visitors are within easy reach of Clovelly, Hartland Point, Westward Ho! and many other North Devon resorts.

Dartmoor is just over half an hour away and Cornwall’s Bodmin Moor is closer still. Bude is therefore ideally situated to tour both Devon and Cornwall.

There is also Bude’s Splash fun pool with its wave machine for the not so sunny days. So in Spring, Summer and Autumn, Bude offers something for everyone!

My Haven

Where is the heaven on earth for me?
Where is the magic that steels my mind?
Where do the rollers white with foam Come rushing in a path to find?
Through rocks and crannies with mussels clinging
The seagulls overhead are singing.
The golden sands with pebbles rare
We tread our path without a care.
A summer’s eve brings out the Band,
We dance all around and down the Strand.
The boats, canal and dancing too Are added pleasures for a few.

Where is this magic world of mine
With tranquil thoughts renewed,
With wind and rain, and clear blue skies?

My haven’s name is BUDE.
